St James's House RREC Diamond Jubilee Rally at Burghley House

A Legacy of Luxury

More than 1,000 classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars descended on Burghley House in Lincolnshire from 23–25 June 2017 to celebrate a very special annual rally for the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club (RREC). Marking the club’s diamond jubilee year, the grounds of the grand 16th-century stately home were packed with luxury vehicles over the sunny weekend, with the Sunday witnessing a record turnout. The star attractions included a replica of the much-loved Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, rare 1920s classics and the original “Silver Ghost” – widely considered to be the most valuable car in the world. Attendees commented on the continued growth of the prestigious event, and on its increase in size in this, the club’s 60th-anniversary year, in particular. A large part of this success was due to the introduction of the St James’s House “World of Luxury” marquee, which housed some of the incredible brands that were featured in the club’s official 2017 publication A Legacy of Luxury. The select group of exhibitors treated RREC members and media guests to a variety of stylish sites and sensations, all rounded off with fine wines and delicious morsels prepared on-site by a world-class chef. Having featured in the RREC’s 2017 publication A Legacy of Luxury, C&C Milano was proud to extend its association with the club by exhibiting at the annual rally and getting the chance to meet and mingle with the members in person. St James’s House Chief Executive Richard Freed said: “The biggest gathering of Rolls-Royce and Bentleys the world has ever seen was a fitting tribute to a wonderful event for the RREC members. “The exhibitors in the World of Luxury marquee were a very welcome addition to the rally, as the various conversations that they struck up with the club’s members went to show. “We fully expect next year’s event at the Goodwood Estate in March 2018 to exceed the resounding success of the Burghley House meet.”
